Preceded in death by his son, William Lovelace Baker, Jr.
Survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruth Huddleston Baker: daughter, Emily Ruth
Baker: granddaughters, Elissa Irvin (Chris)Langenegger and Emmi Irvin Simpson and great-grandchildren. Brighton Antonio Langenegger and Madeline Ruth Simpson.
Bill was born and lived in Paducah, Kentucky until attending Battle
Ground Academy in high school. After graduation from Vanderbilt University in 1941, he married Ruth in December of 1941 and served in the navy during World War II. He worked many years at First American National Bank and earned a degree from YMCA Law School. Bill was devoted to his wife and all his family.
A Memorial service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church. 3701
Hilisboro Pike, Nashville on Sunday, June 22, at 3:30 p.m., with visitation
at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Peter van Eys and Rev. Bryan Brooks officiating.
Bill donated his body to Vanderbilt School of Medicine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church.
