

William Maxon “Max” Grant, age 81, passed away on June 1, 2022. He was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Preceded in death by his wife Anne Estes Grant and his parents Howard Edwin Grant and Jewell Brooks Grant, and his nephew Burgess McNamara. He is survived by his children Christi Grant Seckman (Ben) and Edwin Hunter Grant; sister Carole Moulthrop (Bruce) and brother Edwin Grant (Malene);sister-in-law Nancy Estes; 4 grandchildren: Grant, Cole, Max and Ellie Seckman, and 7 nieces and nephews.
Max graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and the varsity golf team. He served as Vice President for his family business, Tennessee Electric Motor Company, for over 40 years. Max was an original member of the Business Leadership Club (BLC), enjoying camaraderie and friendship with many business leaders in Nashville. He was a longtime member of the Nashville Rotary Club, and one of the founding visionaries for the creation of St. Paul Christian Academy. The ongoing success of St. Paul was one of his proudest achievements.
Max was an avid golfer, and a member of Temple Hills Golf Club. He was a loyal supporter of UT Athletics, especially football, as a long time season ticket holder and fan. He was known for his generosity, his devotion to his friends and family, and his sense of humor. We will miss his stories, jokes and impressions - always one for an audience!
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale at the Cumberland. He was well loved and cared for by all who knew him.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 3-5pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10am on Monday, June 6, 2022 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Rev. Kenny Benge officiating.
