
William F. Siemers, age 93, passed away on December 15, 2010. He received a Divinity degree from Lakeland College and spent his early career as a pastor of the United Church of Christ, with parishes in: Darlington, Wisconsin; New Salem, North Dakota and Chicago, Illinois. After obtaining a MBA from the University of Chicago in 1965, he became the administrator and CEO of the Christ Medical Center of suburban Chicago, a Church affiliated hospital system. He was a member of the American College of Hospital Administrators, the American Hospital Association, the Illinois Hospital Association and the Chicago Hospital Council. He was President of the Greater Chicago Ministerial Association of the United Church of Christ and the denomination's Council on Health and Welfare. He served on the board of directors of the Evangelical Hospital Association, the Kenwood-Ellis Community Center, the St. Paul Retirement Center, the Grace Convalescent Home and the Southwest Chicago Y.M.C. A. At the time of his retirement, the chapel in the hospital's new south wing was named in his honor. After retirement to Tennessee, he served on the board of directors of Fairfield Glade.
leaves three sons to mourn his death: William Albert (Gretta) of Taylorville, IL, Paul Timothy (Beverly) of Dallas, TX and Robert Mark (Kendra) of Hummelstown, PA, as well as a daughter, Carol Lynn, of Nashville, TN. Also surviving him are four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. His beloved wife of 55 years, Lucile, his parents Edward and Caroline (Prange) Siemers, two brothers and seven sisters preceded him in death. Known for his gentle manner and quiet humor and valued for his intellect and sage advice, he will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
