Francine’s family moved to San Diego, where she attended and graduated from San Diego High school. In high school, Francine was petite, beautiful, and smart, along with her charismatic personality, was admired by many, She was nominated home coming queen. Around this time her love story began with Tony, and at the age of 17, Francine Antoinette, was born to both Francine and Tony.
Francine always being independent, would raise her daughter, she Would call “ja-Ja baby”, with the help of her family. Ten years later she would have her second child, a son, John Patrick Jacome. She was soo happy to have a son she loved and adored very much. But, with great sadness at the age of 9, Patrick died unexpectedly from an undetected illness. Francine, though never really recovering from the loss of her son, found the strength to turn her tragedy into a passion for helping others with compassion and fairness. Francine was blessed with three Grandchildren; Priscilla, Kami, and D.J.
Francine known to her grandkids as “pumpkin”, was the most giving, loving, and understanding grandmother her grandkids have come to know and love.
Her passion and love for animals would welcome her rescue dogs, who were more like her children, picture perfect.
Bootsie also known as my brother, brought her great joy and companionship. When bootsie passed she was able to fill that loss with her chihuahua Penelope, or as my mom would say my ‘sister’. Her loyal Penelope would stay by Francine’s side till the end. Francine’s pride & joy, sits here today with us, and shares the sadness felt in losing some one soo dear. Francine’s proudest accomplishments was her career in education, with the San Diego unified school district, for the past 25 plus years. She was resourceful, and would make it her mission to find the answers or give guidance while she would feed you snacks at the same time. She’s truly loved her job and the people she worked with. After meeting her co-workers, I know why she loved working there. Thank you San Diego Unified School District, Department of Education, and to all those who have been a great friend to my mom, especially during the tragic loss of her Granddaughter, Kami, at the age of 14. During her final days I spent with her she would tell me that Kami was always around her, but I know She was just waiting patiently for her time to share the eternal peace we all will one day come to know. And for now we can find comfort in knowing that.
