Conrad passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous journey with kidney disease. He underwent eight years of peritoneal dialysis at home, followed by two years of hemodialysis at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Born on November 5, 1941, in Roeselare, Belgium, Conrad often joked that he was born prematurely at seven months because he wanted to see what all the noise from the bombs falling on the city was about. That quiet humor and unique perspective remained with him throughout his life.
Conrad was the beloved husband of Yvonne (Catrysse), with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in dedication, hard work, and a deep devotion to family.
In 1969, Conrad founded Intergraphics Decal, which he proudly owned and operated for 54 years. His strong work ethic, integrity, and unwavering commitment earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, clients, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Susanne Desender.
Conrad will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Yvonne; his children, Gregory and Cheryl; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Gabriella, Ella, and Nico. He is also survived by his three brothers and three sisters.
Beyond his professional life, Conrad cherished community and companionship. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Les Marmitons cooking club, and enjoyed fishing, cooking, time spent at the cabin, traveling with friends and family, and relaxing while watching Netflix with Yvonne.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane, Winnipeg, with interment to follow in the Garden of Crucifixion at Green Acres Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Manitoba Branch.
