Donna Diane Braun

It is with profound sadness that the family of Donna Braun announce her sudden but peaceful passing on June 4th, 2016. Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, in January 2007. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her three children and their spouses, Jeff (Sandy), Sherri (Doug), and Jennifer (Jason), as well as her grandchildren, Bill, Aaron (Chay), Scott, Haelee, Daniel, her great-grandson Keagen, and three step-grandchildren, Justin (Bree), Amy, and Jordan. Donna will also be dearly missed by her sisters Lois and Janice and her brother George (Dawn), her brothers-in-law Dar (Carol) and Al (Linda), and many nieces and nephews.

Donna flourished in nursing at St. Boniface Hospital and continued nursing after their move to Kenora. She was a dedicated foster parent and enriched the lives of many children throughout the years. Donna moved back to her roots after the passing of Richard to be closer to her mother and siblings. She had a passion for knitting and making jewelry and loved selling her creations at craft sales. Bingo enriched her life (especially when she won!) and she loved watching curling.

After her fall and subsequent surgery in March, Donna’s dry quick wit was more humorous than ever and her smile even wider. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. The family takes comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with the love of her life.

Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg.
