Donna Rita Lee

It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Donna Rita Lee (née Hart), who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 28, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 80.

Donna was born on May 22, 1946, in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, to the late Henry and Barbara (“Babsie”) Hart. She was one of nine children and carried throughout her life the strong family values, warmth, and kindness that defined her upbringing.

Donna was the beloved wife of David Lee and a devoted mother to Jason Lee (Pamela), Derek Lee, Lorraine Lee Vernon (Scott), Andrew Lee (Sheri), and Jimmy Lee (Cynthia). She was a proud and loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, countless nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and friendship.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Barbara Hart, her brother Hayden, and her sisters Jacqueline and Deborah.

Donna dedicated her life to her family as a stay-at-home mother. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and open arms for anyone who walked through the door. She was known for her caring heart, selfless nature, sense of humour, and unwavering kindness. Family was the centre of her world, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Donna found strength, comfort, and peace in her relationship with God throughout her life. Her faith guided her actions and provided her with hope and courage during life’s challenges. She lived as an example of compassion, generosity, and love, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with her warmth and grace.

A funeral service celebrating Donna’s life will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Donna’s memory.

The family would like to thank all those who provided care, support, prayers, and kindness during Donna’s journey. Your love and compassion will never be forgotten.
