Our family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Edward on the evening of December 25th, 2021.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Elizabeth (Betty), daughters Alison (Steve) and Marlene (Costa Mesa, CA), grandchildren Garrett and Brooke along with loving sisters Alice (Belanger) Selkirk, MB and Jean (Joyce) Kamloops, BC. He was predeceased by his brother Francis and sister Irene (Ross).
The most important thing to Edward was family. He planned many trips with Betty and the girls from Christmas at Disney World, driving through the Badlands, to the famous trip in Cuba. He also travelled to Las Vegas and Los Angeles to visit Marlene. Edward always made time for his daughters as he definitely sat through one too many baton and dance recitals. Edward loved spending time in Ste. Anne, MB with his family and attending the Benoit Family reunions. However, Edward was most proud to call himself Grandpa. Nothing gave him more joy then spending time with Garrett and Brooke.
Edward was an engineer with the Department of Highways for 44 years, with the majority of his career spent in Lac du Bonnet and Selkirk. He had many stories to share about the roads we drive today. Edward and Betty spent 55 years living in Windsor Park, surrounded by wonderful neighbors and a yard that was nothing short of perfection. The memories from having a shared driveway with The Watkins Family will be forever treasured. Edward was an avid sports fan and loved both attending and watching Jets and Goldeyes games.
In keeping with Edward’s wishes there will be no service.
