The family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, Eva van Dorp Stuve on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 96 years.
Eva is survived by her husband Klaas, her children Dorothy (Gaele), Jean, John (Agnes), Linda (Joe), Henry (Marilyn); grand-children Robert (Sandy), Karen, John (Annet), David, Linda (Martijn), Esther (Bas), Evelien (Nahid), Jan, Brian (Darlene), Darryl (Maggie), Richard (Malinda), Johnny (Jennifer), Cheryl, Jeffrey (Carrie), Gregory, Alan, Mark (Andrew); numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; Klaas’ children Bill, Ike, John, Gary, Ron, Jenny and their families; many nieces and nephews.
Eva was predeceased by her parents, first husband William van Dorp, sons-in-law Gary Lissenberg and Fred Vette, grandson-in-law Jim Vanden Berg, siblings Bodie (Audrey), Cor (Rose), Jean, and Jim (Dorothy), and extended family members.
Eva was born Utje Dijkstra (later Canadianized to Eva Dykstra) on January 20, 1922 in Oostdongeradeel, Anjum, The Netherlands, to parents Jelle Dijkstra and Doetje Koopmans. The family immigrated to Canada in the late 1920’s and settled in the Winnipeg area. Eva married William van Dorp on November 21, 1940 and settled in the Blackdale area. Eva farmed alongside William until their retirement. They celebrated 63 years of married life together. William passed away on April 3, 2004. Eva married Klaas Stuve on October 1, 2005 and they settled in Winnipeg.
Eva was a member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church for many years. Eva belonged to a bowling league and was actively bowling well into her 70’s. Eva loved animals especially cats and dogs but was known to nurse many animals back to health. She took great pride in her vegetable and flower gardens. In her later years, she lost her sight due to glaucoma which greatly reduced her quality of life. Prior to Eva losing her eyesight, she enjoyed knitting, traveling, reading, photography, fishing, and attending family events.Eva moved to Donwood Manor in September 2015.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Private interment will be held.
