Fernande Jaques nee Lussier lived a long full life of serving God and His people. Fernande left the farm in Lac du Bonnet at the age of 16 to join the Sisters of St Joseph of Ste Hyacinthe Quebec where she lovingly served the church for around 20 years. She left the order upon the recommendation of the Sister Superior due to health concerns. In 1965, Fernande Lussier and Eugène Lansard were married and raised their four children in St. Boniface. It was important to Ferne to keep her vows and so she went on to help as many as she could throughout her entire life. She worked with Child and Family services, special needs people, food banks and thrift stores as well as anyone that needed help of any kind. Eugène went to be with the Lord in 1994 and in 1996 Ferne was blessed with Garry Jaques as a friend and husband for the last 28 years. Garry is a wonderful husband and shares her passion for loving and helping people. Ferne loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She amassed countless friends over the years and prayed for everyone. Mom will be deeply missed. Her life lessons of how to live a good and helpful life will forever be instilled in her family and friends. She was a very special lady, true to God and true to her convictions.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 24, 2024 at 1:30 pm with prayers at 1:00 pm at the Saint-Anne-Des-Chenes Parish in Ste Anne MB. A private interment will be held at a later date at the St. Boniface Cemetery.
The family would like to wholeheartedly thank the staff at the Villa Youville and the Ste Anne Hospital for their friendship and care for our dearly beloved wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and Friend, Fernande Jaques.
