Frederic George Pearce Newlove

On December 13, 2025 Fred Newlove passed away quietly at Vista Park Lodge.

Fred leaves behind to mourn our loss his wife Nina, daughters Nancy and Lindy (Johan), four grandchildren Svea, Ilana, Becky, and Emil, one great-granddaughter Mia. Fred also leaves to mourn three sisters Phoebe (Bodo), Dorothy, Margie (Richard), sister-in-law Ginette, brother-in law and sister-in-law Bill and Eva, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was recently predeceased by his brother Tom.

Fred loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Fred and Nina travelled from the West coast to East coast in Canada many times, to Texas for many years, as well as Cuba and Sweden. Fred will be fondly remembered for his generosity of spirit, kindness, and sense of humour. He cared about people and was one to turn to for thoughtful, reflective advice and guidance. Fred was active in the community with the Lions’ Club and he was quick to assist when he encountered someone in need.

Beyond being an avid outdoorsman, Fred enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends. He was mechanically talented and always ready to help friends and relatives.

Something not everyone will know about Fred is that he sang beautifully and was incredibly artistic.

No funeral will be held, but a private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
