Dad was born in Arnaud Manitoba and attended school at Langside School until grade eight and took his grade nine by correspondence. He worked with his Dad, Grandfather and Uncle on the farm. He met and married Bernice French October 10, 1945.
Dad is survived by his wife Bernice (French) of 66 years. Children Cliff (Rose) John (Cindy) Marjorie (Mike Stepaniuk) Don (Gerogie) Gordon (Joanne) 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. sisters in law, Jean Khean, Gwen (Brian Nichols) and many nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his parents George and Feron by his brothers Robert, Glynn and his sister Agnes Coffman. Grandson John Graydon, brothers in law Wallace, Thomas, Ken and Vaughan French and Alfred Coffman. Sisters in law Dorothy Solnes, Norma Forbes, Joan Noonan, Hazel Graydon and Ealliene Graydon.
Dad started his farming career at Langside until the flood of 1950 and he moved his family to higher ground at Green Ridge. He farmed and drove school bus until his retirement. Dad had a love of horses and big white cattle. He spent countless hours breaking and driving horses after retirement. He was happiest when could take his grandchildren for rides with the sleigh or wagon. After retirement Dad and Mom spent many years traveling all over Manitoba with friends fishing and camping.
Funeral service will be held June 22, 2012 at 2 P.M. at the Green Ridge United Church, Green Ridge, MB. Interment to follow at the Green Ridge Cemetery.
We as a family would like to thank the management and staff at the Red River Valley Lodge for the excellent care they provided Dad.
