Marcel Savard, who we lovingly called “Mouse“, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023 at the age of 63.
His battle with cancer took him from us fast and furiously. He leaves behind his beloved daughter Lisa Kitzmann, who he always referred to as “the best thing he ever did”.
Preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Savard, he is survived by his mother Aurelie, and his siblings; Suzanne (Larry), Pat (Rene), Gerry (Debbie), Raymond (Jeannine), and Gilles (Naomi); along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
Born on March 26, 1960 in St Boniface, Manitoba, Marcel spent his childhood surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. He lived a quiet life for the most part, preferring to stay out of the spotlight. He was known for his independence and resourcefulness, always finding his own way to handle things.
His passions included; cheering on his favorite hockey teams, admiring muscle cars, and indulging in his all-time favorite food: pizza. He had a deep appreciation for classic rock music and took pride in his stereo equipment, always seeking out the best sound quality. Marcel was content with the simple things. He liked an occasional beer with friends and cherished spending time with family, rarely missing a gathering or holiday event.
Despite his quiet demeanor, his impact on those around him was significant. Mouse had a gentle heart and a warm smile. His hugs smelled of tobacco and his eyes would twinkle when he laughed.
He was loved.
A private family funeral will be held to honor Marcel’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcel’s memory to the River View Health Centre Foundation or to Cancer Care Manitoba.
We will miss you forever Mouse. See you on the other side of the stars.
