Peacefully following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Martin with his family by his side on July 23, 2017.
Martin is survived by his wife Sarah, children Sharon (Roy), Glenn (Cec), Garry (Maria), Gordon, Bradley (Jennifer), and grandchildren Pamela and Emily and four sisters. He was predeceased by two brothers.
Martin was born in the Plum Coulee area in a farmstead to Martin and Annie Rempel in 1934. A hard working farm boy, he met his future wife and loving partner Sarah Zacharias. They married in 1954 and moved to Winnipeg to raise a family. Unbeknownst to them it would be five children. A hardworking husband and father, he was employed at Pioneer Electric and then moved on to work twenty four years at the University of Manitoba. He enjoyed family, playing violin, singing in a seniors choir and travelling the world.
A Celebration of Martin’s life will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 27, 2017.
The family wish to thank the Victoria General Hospital Staff in the ICU and Palliative Care units.
