It is with deep sadness that the family of Noella Cancade (nee Laramee) announce her passing on June 10, 2022. Mom passed away peacefully at Misericordia Hospital at the age of 89 years.
Noella is survived by Paul; Her children, Richard, Suzanne(John) and Mike(Candice); grandchildren David, Michael, Melissa(Evan) and Nicole(Justin) as well as her siblings Terry Novak(Alex), Joe Laramee(Rose) and numerous nephews, nieces and in-laws.
Noella was predeceased by her parents Edmond and Louise Laramee; and siblings, Irene Dame, Ella Laramee (Bousquet), Laurie Kalinsky, Simone Taylor, Paul Laramee, Jean Taylor, Andre Laramee, Alice Bachman, Leo Laramee and Maurice Laramee.
Mom was born in Winnipeg on Dec 29, 1932. She was one of 13 children born to Edmond and Louise Laramee. Noella married Paul Cancade in 1952 and the couple settled in St. Boniface where they operated the Red and White Store on St. Joseph Street for several years. They later moved to Norwood and then to Windsor Park where they raised their 3 children.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved taking her grandchildren on outings to The Forks, for swims in her pool, watching the Canada Day fireworks with them from the roof of her building and telling them "Tommy" stories. Her Christian faith was a central focus of her life. She was very generous and supported many charities that were important to her. Mom was a very loyal and faithful person. She was very friendly, loved being with people and had a remarkable sense of humour.
Family, friends and God meant everything to Mom. We love her and we will miss her very much. She is now in her heavenly home.
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. John 14:1-3
