Very sad to learn of your loss of Pete.  He was a big guy with a big heart that filled every room he entered.  Always helpful and kind.
I still think of you both when we drive near your Kincardine house.

I grew up in Fort Garry " the planets". Petey scared me a little as a child because he was so amazingly 
friendly and happy and I was shy and scared of everything. He was a legend in the neighborhood. I'm so happy he was married to someone who so clearly loved him so much. I'm  sorry for your family's loss. He rocked at life

This photo , from the very early ‘80s , shows Petie flying over the handle bars of my mom’s bike in his attempt to take out the snowman we had made. I guess we neglected to  mention the railroad tie that lay under the snow marking the boundary of the yard. We also didn’t bother to remove the shovel from the snowman, I notice. Anyway, Petie and the snowman both survived this attempt. The bike did not.

Thanx Peter for your generosity of fresh garden produce to the Ste. Anne Food Bank & kindness over the years. You will be missed. Condolences to family & friends.

Pete and I once scavenged the old farm and dragged home a huge pile of rusty scraps. My dad was none to happy when he found the pile behind his garage. Pete managed to build a chair out of an larger plow disc and a tractor seat that belonged in a design museum and was fun to use as it had a little bounce to it. 
Sadly it didn’t survive and the remains of the scrap pile were long ago removed at my father’s insistence. Pete saved this horseshoe and a few years later gifted me this sculpture he made from welding rods. I don’t remember if Pete named the piece but I’ve always called it “This town ain’t big enough for the both of us.” Pete was a big man with a big heart who had an infectious joy for living. I’m lucky to have caught some from him.

Oh My was so so sad to learn Peter has left us. Such a young man, robbed of his time and experience’s and time with Julie & his family. 
Julie; tried a few times to look up an address or phone # to get in touch.. My daughter tried as she wanted you both to attend my 90th Surprise Birthday last year as she’d heard me speak of you. 
I remember so well all the laughs and fun times we shared in our MOLSON Days. Peter was a guy who was Always Smiling! The photo in the newspaper was exactly how I ‘see’  Pete in my memories. 
His welding talents were some of the best Ild seen in the days. He seemed to spend a lot (wink) of his time in the Engineer Room with us, which was a Bonus because I’m glad I got to know him so well. 
Julie, my heart breaks for you… I know somewhat of how you’re feeling… Yvette left for heaven three years ago and it’s a tough journey. 
Just remember to keep your family close and never stop sharing your memories about Pete.

When asked about what I remember most about Pete, I have one memory that rises above all others. I was married in September 2012, and at one point we ended up outside in the evening and it was chilly. Many guests offered me their jackets, but I wasn't bothered and didn't want anyone else to be cold. All of a sudden, a large warm jacket was draped over my shoulders, accompanied by the biggest smile. Pete didn't give me the option to refuse, simply gave me his jacket on one of the biggest days of my life. I think that memory sums him up as a person so well. He is already so sorely missed.

The world is a little quieter without Uncle Pete's booming voice and contagious laugh. I am so sorry for your loss, he will be greatly missed.

Julie, and family. Pete was always a person you wanted to be around. So funny and always smiling. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I got to know Pete when he was with OMS at Bruce A he always had a smile and spoke to everyone in a friendly voice no matter the situation he will be sadly missed by family and friends

Sincerest condolences to the family.  Pete was a fixture in our lives while living in Wildwood Park.  His personality shone brightly!
Many memories of his youthful days  will always remain.
Rest in peace.

Even trips to the dump were fun with Pete, my husband and best friend.

Peter and I worked together for a couple years, I'll always remember his positive attitude and desire to make our shop better - all with a big smile on his face!

Those of us who worked with Peter are very sad to hear of his passing.

Haven't seen Pete in a few years,  one thing for sure he always had a
 smile on his face and always seem to be in a good mood.  When you
  spoke with him you usually left with a smile on your face .

Pete was larger than life and remains so in our memories. Big laugh, big brain, big and bold ideas, big hugs and heart. His illness caused a cruel and relentless struggle at the end but he remains strong and present in our hearts.  Julie, we can't find the words. None of this makes sense except for the love and caring shown. Deb, Kathy, Randy, Calvin - every day.  We are thinking of all family and friends and celebrating the best of Pete with you. I think that Pete would like to let us know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate his life in their own way, raising a glass of their favourite drink would be quite appropriate. 
To Peter, one of the kindest people you could ever meet who opened his heart to everyone!

Memorial Service

Pete will be lovingly remembered by his wife Julie Hawkins, children with Jocelyn - Jadrien, Matthew, Peter Roger; his mother Adele; brothers Mark and Jeff (Janine), four nephews, three nieces, three grandchildren, and all his in-law family members. Predeceased by his father Peter Edward, sister Cori, Julie’s son Christopher Petir, and nephew Jordan.
