Peacefully, following some months in palliative care, on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Grace Hospice, it is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Elizabeth Cherlet (Nee Poitras) at the age of 92.
Rita will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family. Left to mourn her passing, are her children Gary, Stephen (Alison), Jeffrey (Tammy); grandchildren Katie, Roni, Dillon, Val and Calvin.
She was predeceased by her husband Gerry (Gerard) Cherlet.
Rita was a loving mother and grandmother. After her husband Gerry passed away in 1984, she and her sister Annette spent a lot of time together visiting and helping immediate and extended family around Winnipeg and across the country.
A service will be held, at a date to be determined, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Interment will be private.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and health care workers at Riverview Palliative Care Centre and Grace Hospice, where she spent her last weeks in comfort and at peace.
