It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mum Vera, with her family by her side, on January 3,2025 in Steinbach Manitoba Canada at the age of 91.
She was born in Tidworth England on August 28, 1933, to Arthur Plank and Edith M Harrold.
Vera will be sadly missed by her children, Adam (Lisa), and Wendy (Chris), and grandchildren Andrew, Kate, Mathew, Adam, Bella, Jorgia, and Amber. She was predeceased by her husband Eric, whom they spend 55 years of marriage together at his time of passing in 2020.
Vera lived a very good life with her husband and family. She was a hard working woman from an early age, she enjoyed being a nanny and always loved babies. When she met and married Eric they had their farm to work and live off of and raise their two children. Vera always talked about a fond memory of her birthday when she and her best friend, Sylvia Bowsher, went down to the ocean for the day and got to celebrate their special day together splashing in the ocean and on the beach, it was a special adventure she held close to her heart. She had moved to Canada permanently in 2015, where she and Eric came to farm and be with their son Adam and family. She enjoyed her later years growing vegetables in her garden, taking care of her yard and flowers, knitting, and spending time with her family both on and off the fields. Her smile and laugh were contagious and those all around her got so much joy being with her.
As per Vera’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family memorial will take place at a later date.
