Having just learned of Carol's passing I would like to offer my sincere condolences.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

Carol Atz was a very kind, caring, outgoing, pleasant lady who always had a big smile on her face. She was the type of person who made you feel good inside any time you had  pleasure and privilege to talk to her. Carol was an outstanding, highly professional educator whose contributions to students and staff of The New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation will long be remembered. As a teacher in New Albany-Floyd County for thirty-seven years, my life was blessed because I had the pleasure and privilege to have known Carol. My condolences to Carol's family.  David Condra

What a loss to the NAFC School Corp. and the entire community. Carol was a wonderful and caring lady. She was a very special lady whom I greatly admired. She touched the heart of many, many children throughout the years! She hired me in 1988 and I will be forever in her debt. I was at FCHS  in different capacities over the years. I met Carol when she hired me to teach at Scribner 13 years ago. She was a sweet person and will be missed!  My condolences go out to her family.

Jamey I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. There are certain people in life that you will always remember and she was one of them.she inspired me in life.  She was my first principal at fairmont.  She was such a great person. And will be missed by so many. Prayers are with you and your family.

Prayers for your comfort as you grieve Carol.  She was a special lady and most kind to me when my teaching position was cut. I admired her graciousness and professionalism.

Mrs.Atz was my principal at Fairmont Elementary School in the 1980's. She was a wonderful person that I always looked up to then and now. 30 years later when I would see her out, she was still the beautiful and classy lady that she was back then.

Carol and I was close friends when our children, Jamie and  Dawn, were in gymnastics at SIGS. I loved talking to Carol. After my daughter quit gymnastics, I missed our friendship. Carol loved Jamey very much so I can just imagine how much she loved her grandchildren. Carol also loved teaching and administrating -- school was her passion.

Jamey, our circle of friends (lovingly called our "therapy group")will miss your Mom so badly. As Jackie said, she just beamed when she spoke of you, Wes and the kids. I pray it will give you some comfort to know that she will be remembered with love by so many people.

Carol  hired  me  and   was  always  encouraging  about all the  PE  ACTIVITIES  that I began at FKE  and other schools  I taught at.    She  was  passionate  about  hiring  the BEST TEACHERS  NAFC  SCHOOLS   so the students  received   quality instructions.  Will miss her

Your school corporation, colleagues, friends, and community have all been made   better by the contributions you made.

Jamey, your mom was so very special. She was one of my rocks professionally, and over time she became one of my dearest, dearest friends. She was always there for me and the rest of our group. Our dinners will never be the same, but she will always be there with us in our hearts. We never got together that she didn't let us know what was going on with you, Wes and the girls. Talking about you always made her happy. You all are in our thoughts and prayers, and she will forever be in our hearts.

A wonderful lady who will be greatly missed.

Carol hired me to replace her at Fairmont School as Principal. She loved Fairmont and all schools she served. She tirelessly served NAFC Schools and never ceased to devote herself to her job. She will really be missed. Her advice and guidance to me and many others will always be remembered.

Carol has been a great friend to me over the past 20 years. She will be greatly missed by all. Her family and friends will be in my prayers.

Carol will be greatly missed. Her laugh was infectious and her friendship sincere. I will miss you, my friend.

I was so very saddened to hear about Carol's death. It took a few moments for the news to really sink in. Carol was such a wonderful lady, and so very funny and kind. She was such a hard working, dedicated, powerhouse of a woman. I looked up to her, always. She also made me laugh...and, I am happy to say that I made her laugh right back. I first met Carol at SIGS where she was a "Gym Mom" and I was a coach. I was not her daughter's coach, but she made it a point to know everyone that worked there.Then later, she hired me to work at Mt Tabor School. Carol never forgot that we first knew each other in that gym, and we shared fond memories, often. Her love of her daughter, and her family, was EVIDENT. Ask about them, and her face LIT UP!!! Carol, I will miss you, sweet friend, but I will never forget you, and when I think of you I know I will always SMILE. Love, Becky Stotts
