Cedric Forrest Denny Jr., 88, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home. He was born August 16, 1927 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Cedric F. Denny Sr. and Pauline Kron Denny. He is also preceded in death by his infant children, David, Laura, Sharon, and Nancy and his siblings, Jim Denny and Pat Meyer. He was born and raised in New Albany and graduated from New Albany High School where he was an exceptional swimmer and went on to attend UofL. He became a lifelong fan of UofL sports as well as enjoying hiking, camping, and researching family history. He was active in scouting as a boy and became a Troop Leader in the Boy Scouts for many years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and Highland Presbyterian Church where he served diligently as an usher. He also served our country in the Army Air Corp during WWII and retired from the trucking industry as owner of Banner Transfer.
He is survived by his sons, Cedric Denny, III and his wife, Becky and Charles “Chuck” Denny and his wife, Donna; sisters, Sue Dean and June Feick; grandchildren, Josh Denny, Clayton Denny, and Chelsea Glasscock; and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and after 12:00 pm Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home chapel with private burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
