

Funeral services for Charles P. “Chuck” McCurdy, 70, of Sellersburg, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Kraft Funeral Services, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville.
The son of the late Charles and Bernice Smith McCurdy, he was born March 30, 1940, in Chicago. He worked for the Coca-Cola Company in Louisville for many years, was a former bugler with the Chicago Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps and was a member of Abundant Life Church in New Albany. Above all, he was a family man. He adored his family and they will forever hold dear the precious memories of their many vacations together.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Penny Olson McCurdy; children, Chuck McCurdy and his wife, Angela, of Prospect, Ky., Colleen Kempf and her husband, Mike, of New Albany, Kevin McCurdy, of Fern Creek, Ky., and Kate McCurdy, of Sellersburg; sister, Darlene Kasper, of Tinley Park, Ill.; mother-in-law, Eleanor Lasko, of Darien, Ill.; and grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Cameron, Ashlee, Hailey, Lauren and Erin McCurdy.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. today.
