NEW ALBANY JEFFRIES, CLARK L., 57, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany. Clark retired from the New Albany Police Department having served as the assistant chief of police for eight years. He also was director of security for the New Albany Housing Authority. Clark was a member of the Lee Deich FOP Lodge #99 and a former Exalted Ruler of the Thomas English Elks Lodge #1510. Survivors include wife of 17 years, Mary Jeffries; children, Annie Stice (Chris), Evan Jeffries and Lori Jeffries; sisters, Sheilah Smith (Bobby) and Karen Ellis; brother, Andre Jeffries (Kathy); grandson, Gage Stice; aunt, Eleanor C. Harris; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, and noon-2 p.m. Monday at Galatian Baptist Church, 2020 Maryland Ave., New Albany.
