Daniel Joseph Leist

DANIEL JOSEPH LEIST, 80, died Sunday November 22, 2015. The son of the late Robert and Amelia (Banet) Leist, Danny was born January 12, 1935 in New Albany. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was employed by Hobart Manufacturing and Vulcan Hart Co., and owned and operated Carolyn’s Quilting for many years with his late wife, Carolyn Bunch Leist. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Betty Busing, and William and Robert Leist.

Survivors include his children, Debbie Deckard, Joe Leist (Nancy), and Brenda Snider (Tim); sister, Rosemary Leist; brother, James Leist; grandchildren, Everett Deckard (Kendra), Karie Davis-Nozemack (Matt), Kyle Leist, (Lindsey), Sarah Leist, Forrest Snider (Christine), and Cameron Snider; great grandchildren, Will and Mary Reagan Nozemack, Lena Leist, Lucas Deckard, and Lanz Snider.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Saturday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial and military honors to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
