Donald M. Beck, 85, of New Albany, Indiana passed away January 24, 2022 at Baptist Health Floyd surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 12, 1936 in New Albany, Indiana to the late George A. and Dorotha Beck. He was a retired photographer with over 46 years of service with the News and Tribune. After retirement, he spent countless hours volunteering at Baptist Health Floyd and traveled abroad with VOSH helping local eye doctors in rural areas of Honduras. He was a veteran in the United States Army and was a lifelong member of Northside Christian Church. He was an avid sports fanatic, and loved fishing and golfing. He loved his family dearly especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don never met a stranger and was a wonderful husband, father and friend.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a great grandson, Rowan Theobald.
Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Earlene Dizney Beck; three daughters, Kim (Scott) Reese, Theresa Jenkins and Shelly (Scott) Klink; six grandchildren, Brad (Adam) Mills, Nickie (Gabe) Wenger, Dustin (Starline) Klink, Casey (Tim) Meekins, Lauren (Ricky) Theobald and Kyle Jenkins; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
