Doris J. Abrams

Doris J. Abrams, age 89, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, August 25, 2025. Doris was born in Dubois County, Indiana, on February 21, 1936, to the late Warner Atkins and Mae Elizabeth (Oxley) Atkins. Doris was a faithful woman and leaned on her faith for many years. She retired from a long career at Aegon Insurance. Doris was known for enjoying baking, bunco, gardening, and working in her yard. She was a loving and devoted mother to her seven children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Howard E. Pellman; her husband, Don Abrams; and her brother, Jack Atkins.

Doris is survived by her children, Leah (Steve) Corbin, Cheryl (Steve) Emerson, Edward (Debbie) Pellman, Rick (Angela) Pellman, Peggy Hublar, LaDonna Pellman, and Marty (Sally) Pellman; her 16 loving grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 precious great great grandchild; her step-son, Mike (Sue) Gamble; 4 step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; her brother, Larry Atkins; and many other extended family and friends. Pallbearers include Marty Pellman, Terry Emerson, Troy Smith, Shane Smith, Eric Pellman, Jeremy Stillwell, Cory Corbin, and Brendon Smith.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with her funeral service being held at the Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Her burial will be held at Wickliffe Cemetery.
