Doris Elizabeth Shirley Cooper

Doris Elizabeth (Shirley) Cooper, 90 years of age died Saturday January 10, 2015 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Doris was born September 19,1924 in Bullitt County , Kentucky to the late Jasper and Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Shirley. She was the widow of John W. Cooper who died in 1993 and was the proud mother of three wonderful sons. Doris was a member of Community Christ Church where she formerly taught Sunday School. She loved crafts, crocheting, knitting, fishing and spending time with her family. She was a member of Floyd County VFW Post #3281 War Mothers and a longtime member of the Hoosier Knobs Car Club. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and a sister, LaVerne Morgan. Doris will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Survivors include her three sons, Jerry Cooper and wife Ernesta, Richard Cooper and wife Paulette, Albert Cooper and wife Joyce; seven grandchildren, Alison Kleehamer, Lisa Ann Deen, Michelle Cooper, Michael Cooper, Rhonda Renfrow, Shawn Cooper, Jeremy Cooper; ten great grandchildren, Jerry, Jordan, Chase, Hunter, Blake, Brandon, Kelsie, Abigail, Memphis, Maddyn; three great great grandchildren, Kalea, Brodie and Cash; sister, Ernestine (Tink) Campbell and husband Jim.

Visitation will be from noon until 8:00 pm Tuesday January 13, and after 9:00 am Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be noon Wednesday January 14, 2015 at the Kraft Charlestown Rd. Chapel. Entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
