E. Allen Schuler

E. ALLEN SCHULER, 64, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 surrounded by his wife and children. Allen was born August 12, 1949 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Norman J. and Anna Mildred (Stickler) Blackman Schuler. Allen was a builder, developer, C.P.A and founder and owner of ASB, LLC. He was also Past President of the Home Builders of Southern Indiana where he was awarded the Builder of the Year in 1997 and Past President of the Home Builders of Louisville where he was awarded the Builder of the Year in 1999. Allen was a devoted and active member of St. Mary’s Navilleton Catholic Church. He was a selfless philanthropist and will be remembered and missed by his family, friends and acquaintances. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Blackman.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janet (Atkins) Schuler; children, Janelle Schuler Chew (Mike), David Schuler (Amy),

Renee Schuler Compton (David), Laura Schuler Shade (Bill) and Mark Schuler (Erica); brothers, Robert Schuler (Cindy) and Tony Schuler (Linda); grandchildren, Ryan, Allison, Brooke, Eric, Kaleigh, Cole, Claire, Karsen, Hattie, Harper, Millie, Livia, Will, Nick, Mack, Lucy and Lincoln.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. His Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Thursday at St. Mary’s Navilleton Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
