Ellen Rose Turner, 74 of Elizabeth, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on April 18. Ellen was born January 23rd, 1949 to Clarence and Ethel Dorman in Clarksville, IN. Ellen found grace and joy in everything she touched. A beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother she cared for those around her with uncompromising thoughtfulness. She enjoyed quiet time spent on the water, entertaining in her home, Bible study, frequent travel and many active pursuits. Throughout her career in nursing Ellen worked at several local hospitals and positively impacted many lives.
A woman of profound faith, Ellen shared her love of God with all she knew. Most recently a member of the St. Joseph Parish Community in Corydon, Ellen was engaged with many groups including Cursillo, parish council, bible study, and she was a very active supporter of Mt. St Francis in the past.
Ellen is survived by her husband Randall, her children Joseph Meyer (Brandy), Erin Baker (Tom), Grandchildren Eleanor, Evelyn and Thomas, siblings Dennis Dorman, Becky Needham and Mary Kay Moore as well as Amy and Jordyn Turner-Berns, Adam Turner (Wendy) and Kimberly Turner.
While we mourn her passing, we give thanks for her love of life, the joy she brought to the world and all that she taught us.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Parish, Corydon Indiana at 11:00 AM on 29 April 2023 with Comfort Meal and Celebration of Ellen’s Life Well Lived to follow in the Parish Hall. Private burial will take place later that day at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers Ellen and her family would appreciate donations made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities.
