She was born January 23, 1915 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Amelia Elzy.
Erma and her husband, Donald were the owners and operators of the old Tri-City Auto Supply in New Albany. She was a former member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ and was a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Erma was also a longtime member of the Altrusa Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Barrett; and daughter, Carol Sue Hawkins.
Survivors include: daughter, Donna M. Barrett; grandsons, Donald Scott Hawkins and Todd Hawkins; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. Her Funeral Service will be noon Saturday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
