Ernest Leroy Turley

Ernest Turley, 79, passed away June 6, 2020. The son of the late Ernest and Nellie (Crain) Turley, Ernest was born September 30, 1940 in Cub Run, Kentucky. He was a retired truck driver and was a Sargent in the United States Army. He served two tours in the Vietnam War as a radio operator and lineman and was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars, and a Silver Star. Ernest loved fishing, gambling, and tinkering with cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an older brother, Leamon Turley. Survivors include his daughters, Angela Taylor (James) and Sherrie Trexler (Terri Pearson); grandchildren, Nicole, Kathryn, and Paige; niece, Marya Turley; nephew, Donnie Turley; and his dog, Simon. Visitation will be 4 pm ~ 8 pm Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. Graveside service with military honors will take place at 10:00 am Thursday at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
