George Sidney Weaver Sr., 91, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. George was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 18, 1931, to the late Frank and Josephine Weaver. He was a retired plumber and a member of the Plumbing and Pipefitter Union #502 for over 70 years. He was a member of Grace Assembly of God in Palmyra, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two wives, Betty Jean Hawkins Weaver and Alice Weaver; and two sisters, Mary Catherine O'Mera and JoAnn O'Bryan.
George is survived by four children, Debra Courtney (Dan), Vicki Hensgen (Bob), Kim Schaerer and George Weaver Jr.; eight stepchildren, Dennis Wells (Kathie), Diana Kizer (Rich), Ray Moore (Lois), Pam Conrad (Duray), Mike Wells, Larry Wells (Suzette), Richard Wells (Debbie), Dave Wells (Sharleen); a brother, Frank "Bud" Weaver (Carol); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, Gizmo.
