He was a graduate of Providence High School, Clarksville, Indiana and received a BA from the University of Indiana. He retired from the Social Security Administration, then became a dealer at Caesar’s/Horseshoe Casino of Indiana for 15 years.
He was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church, Sellersburg, Indiana, Knights of Columbus, New Albany, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Rieger Lenfert; sons, Matthew (Roxanne Lenfert) and Brandon (Natalie Lenfert); daughters, Carissa Lenfert (Alan Lowhorn) and Amber Lenfert (Steven Ziegler); and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Catholic Mass will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 216 Scheller Avenue, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172.
