Jo Ann Lausterer

Jo Ann Lausterer (Boyd), 81 passed away Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 at Traditions at Hunter Station in Sellersburg, Indiana. Jo Ann was born on March 20th, 1943, in Floyd County, Indiana to the late Annabelle Boyd and Edwin P. Boyd, Sr. Jo Ann retired from Welding and Therapy in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a former member of Boger City Baptist church in Lincolnton, NC.

Jo Ann was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed cooking for friends, fellowship, her beloved bunco group and Elvis Presley. Jo Ann in her younger years enjoyed making cakes for every occasion. She also taught several Sunday school classes and donated her time to bookkeeping for her church.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Lauster. Sr.; her sister, Patricia Jung (Boyd); and her brother, Edwin P. Boyd, Jr.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Robert Lee Lausterer, Jr (Ellen) of Palm Bay, Florida; and daughter, Beth Lausterer Burden (Kyle) of Otisco, Indiana. Jo Ann had six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, August 5th from 3:00PM to 8:00PM and Tuesday, August 6th from 9:00 - 10:00AM at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany Indiana. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 6th at 10:00AM. Jo Ann will be transported to Lincolnton, NC where she will be buried with her beloved husband Robert Lee Lausterer, Sr. There will be a graveside burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery of Lincolnton, 2858 HWY 150 Lincolnton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, or Leukemia Foundation.
