John D. “Doug” Sarles, 70 years of age died Wednesday February 8, 2017. He was born November 27, 1946 in New Albany, Indiana to Harold Edward and Elora (Harney) Sarles. Doug was a retired truck driver and loved fishing and hunting. He as a proud member of the NRA, Bassmasters and spent many years on the road. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include: Wife Anita P. (Barkemeyer) Sarles, eight children, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Siblings; Sherry Owens (Mark), Paul Sarles, Michael Sarles (Robin Waller) and Elizabeth Washer (Grover) and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Reception will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service 708 E. Spring St. in New Albany with his Memorial Service at 2:00 pm in the Kraft Spring St. Chapel. Private entombment will be at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
