

Johnny Earl Redden, 81, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on January 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He is now enjoying eternal happiness with his lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Johnny was born on November 14th, 1943 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to Charles and Grace (Hollowell) Redden. Johnny graduated from New Albany High School in Indiana in 1961. After high school, Johnny married Ruth (McAdams) and relocated to New Albany, Indiana. In 1967 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served 2 years as a Military Policeman in Pleiku Vietnam.
Upon his return home, Johnny and Ruth moved back to Floyds Knobs, Indiana and he began working as a Security Guard Lieutenant and EMT at ICI Americas in Charlestown, Indiana from which he retired after 25 years.
He welcomed two daughters Holly Ann (Philip) in 1969 and Stacy Noel (Gary Smith) in 1973.
He was an avid fisherman, loved all types of crosswords games and jigsaw puzzles, and was a farmer for most of his life. Johnny and Ruth were foster parents for over 25 years and enjoyed helping children in need immensely. Johnny was a member of Scottsville Christian Church for most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles (Charlie) and Grace (Hollowell) Redden.
He is survived by his wife Ruth (McAdams) of 63 years; two children Holly Ann Bryant (Philip) and Stacy Noel Kelly (Gary Smith); grandsons Jonathan Bryant and Justin Kelly; two brothers, Charles and Robert Redden and a sister, Delores Hollis.
A private ceremony was held at Kraft Funeral Service with interment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
