Juanita T. Carter, 89, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Juanita was born in Taswell, Indiana on November 30, 1935 to the late Sherman Russell Taylor and Edna Osborn Taylor. She was a member of Edwardsville United Methodist Church and was a retired Credentials Analyst with Indiana University. She was an avid fan of PGA golf and IU men's basketball.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Lyn Book and two sisters, Rita McCartin and Sue Dowdell.
Juanita is survived by three children, Kathy Book (Bruce), Joe Carter and Kristen Carter. She was affectionately known as "Granny" to her grandchildren, Brad Book, Greg Book, Jake Carter, Nick Carter and Conner Perry; great grandchildren, Lennon, Silas and Waylon Book; and a brother-in-law, Robert McCartin.
Visitation for Juanita will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday, March 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Tunnel Hill Cemetery.
