Mike was born in Louisville to Thomas C. McIntire and Martha J. McIntire. Mike was a 1976 graduate of Trinity High School and went on to graduate from the University of Louisville as well. He was formerly employed at Capital Holding Corporation and retired from Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC).
Known as “Deeo” to those close to him, Mike enjoyed golfing, football, horse racing, and running 5k races. Most of all, he enjoyed his 3 lovingly nicknamed grandchildren, Olivia (Sodie Pop), Max (Mr. Budge-a-rooner) and Lincoln (The Boop of Earl).
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas C. McIntire and brother Thomas Patrick McIntire.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years Janie Woodlock McIntire, his mother Martha J. McIntire, his brother Robert McIntire (Gayle), his daughters Sarah Rinker (Josh) and Emily Rich (Jacob), and his 3 aforementioned grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank Hosparus of Southern Indiana for providing excellent care, namely Vanessa and our very special nurse Kimberly who provided guidance, humor, and comfort.
Mike’s wish was to treat all family and friends to a final beer on him. In lieu of a visitation and funeral, Mike wanted a celebration of life. All are welcome to come and toast Mike and share a story. This will be held on February 4 from noon to 4 pm at Woodhaven Country Club, 7200 Woodhaven Rd, Louisville, KY in the Ball Room. Dress will be casual.
Donations may be made directly to the ALS Association and Hosparus of Southern Indiana in his memory.
