

Paul F. Kraft, Jr., 75 years of age died peacefully Tuesday at U of L Health Jewish Hospital. Paul was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grade School, Providence High School and the Kentuckiana School of Mortuary Science in Louisville. He was former President of Kraft Funeral Service and Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany having retired in 2022. Paul proudly served area families as a funeral director for over 60 years.
He was past President of Harvest Homecoming, and member of both the Elks Club, and Redmen Club all in New Albany. He was Director emeritus of BPOTTGESWA camping group and served in the Indiana National Guard.
Paul enjoyed the outdoors and loved duck and goose hunting. He was a longtime member of Ducks Unlimited.
He never met a stranger and was a much loved husband, father, grandfather and the eldest of seven brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy, his brother Brad and nephew Casey Kraft.
Survivors include his wife Lysa and her son Trey Mattingly, daughters, Lauren (Mike) Pinto and Kayley (Michael) Seal and his grandson Easton Seal, also his former wife and mother of his children, Sharol Murphy Kraft. His siblings, Charles (Jackie), Kurt (Dottie), Nancy Molnar, Robert, Joe (Pam), John, sister in law Shelly and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 8 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E Spring St, New Albany. His funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of New Albany with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Providence High School.
