

Ralph Edward Adams was born June 7, 1941, and died peacefully on August 26, 2025. He was a beloved husband to Diana Adams and father to Kenny Adams (Stacy), Michael Gossman (Holly), and Jennifer Kovalcik (Chris). He was a cheerful and playful Pawpaw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Alex Adams (Chelsea) and children Hayden and Parker; Jordan Adams (Alysen) and children Jackson and Madelyn; Brianna Adams and son Ryker; Madison Gossman, Isabella Kovalcik, and Sophia Kovalcik; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Sherry Lynn Adams and Cheryl Jean Adams, his parents, Edgar and Mable Adams, and his siblings Linda Gilreath, Jimmy Adams, and Sue Morgan.
Ralph grew up in Stearns, Kentucky and served in the Army and Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968, before making his home in Southern Indiana. He worked for over 25 years in management at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant and then started his own newspaper trucking company.
He had a strong Christian faith and was highly regarded for his caring nature, wisdom, and strong character. At the time of his passing, Ralph and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and previously had been a member of Colgate Baptist Church, serving over many years in various capacities such as Trustee, Deacon, Youth Director, Baptist Men’s Director, Sunday School Teacher, and Building and Grounds Committee.
Ralph was always willing to lend a helping hand and contributed to and touched the lives of many. He loved trucks and motorcycles, fishing, westerns, birds, and music. Most of all, he loved to tease and tell stories and laugh with his family and friends.
Many people looked up to and admired Ralph and leaned on his guidance and advice. Ralph was a strong protector and a strong listener. He was always thinking of other people. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Ralph will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Ralph will be laid to rest in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
