Raymond P. Libs

Raymond P. Libs, 92 years of age, died peacefully, Saturday, November 3, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born April 23, 1926 in Floyds Knobs, Indiana to the late Martin and Caroline Libs. He was faithfully devoted to his family and Catholic religion. Raymond was a farmer, bus driver for the New Albany Floyd County School System, a former Floyd County Commissioner and the owner of Libs Produce and Libs farms, and during retirement he worked driving a truck for Libs Paving Co. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Mary Uhl Libs, and sisters, Dorothy Sprigler, Mary Morthorst, Bertha Eckart, and Anna Lee Gesenhues, and great granddaughters Harper and Georgia Peak. Survivors include his sons, Danny (Brenda) Libs, Gary (Sandy) Libs, Anthony (Michele) Libs, and daughters Vicki (Chris) Rough and Terri (Doug) Gahlinger. Brother, Irvin (Jane) Libs, sisters, Evelyn Baumann, and Sr. Dolorita Libs OSB. Grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Wilcher, Eric (Tara) Libs, Jeff (Cara) Libs, Tricia (Chris) Huber, Tracy (Svend) Jansen, Trudy (Andy) Betourne, Ami (Jason) Driscoll, Natalie (Sean) Peak, Josh (Lindsey) Libs, Cory (Taralyn) Rough, Chelsy (J.W.) Nickell, Tara (Steven) Hnat, Tana (John) Didelot and 29 wonderful great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana and after 9:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. His funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
