Rebecca will be sadly missed. A loving wife and the greatest mother any son could ask for. The best sister and aunt. Rebecca loved life and never met a stranger. She was a friend to everyone she met and had a gift of seeing the treasure in all. She had a heart of gold, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
She was an avid gardener and golfer. She also had a love for animals and always kept family as her priority and passion. She was a great example of Christ's love. Love that endures long and is patient and kind, never envious, boastful, or vainglorious, not conceited, rude or self-seeking. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes. She was ever ready to believe the best in every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances and it endures everything. Love Never Fails. P.S. We love you dearly. Survivors include, husband, Melvin Duane Cook MD ; son and daughter-in-law, Lucas and Alicia Smith; father, Allen Lamont Staples Sr.; mother and her companion, Donna Jean Staples and Bob Schwartz; brother and sister-in-law, Allen "Monty" Lamont and Brenda Staples Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Anne and Joseph M. Reuter.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kraft Chapel, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
