Funeral services for Ricky Wells, 51, of New Albany, will be at noon Monday, Dec. 13, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.
He was born Oct. 22, 1959, in Marion County, to Richard and Edna Mae Brown Wells. He was a boilermaker and member of Boilermaker Local 40 in Elizabethtown, Ky. He loved hunting, Nascar, working on cars, and most of all, his wife and family. Ricky will be forever missed by all his co-workers, friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Donna J. Payton Wells; children, Matthew Wells and his wife, Natasha, of Leavenworth, Brad Terry and his wife, Meredith, of Sellersburg, and Laci and Joshua Wells, both of New Albany; grandchildren, Abigail and Jesse Wells, and Payton and Jackson Terry; mother, Edna Mae Brown Wells, of New Albany; and sisters, Shelia Goss and her husband, Joe, of Georgetown, and Regina Wells, of New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wells; and brother, Rocky Wells.
Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Boilermaker Rites service will be at the funeral home at 5 p.m. Sunday, and a Masonic service will be at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
