Robert L. Booker, Sr, 85 years of age passed away Tuesday, April 7th, 2026. He was a devoted husband and father, and a very proud grandfather. He leaves behind his wife, Arlene, of 46 years, and sons Rob and Brian (Ling) and daughter Kristin Booker (Tommy Humphries), grandchildren Evan Booker, Maya Rawlins, and Booker Rawlins. He is survived by his brother Carl Booker, and sister Judy Wright (Bob).
Bob graduated from New Albany High School in 1959, and the University of Cincinnati, with a B.S. in Architecture, in 1964. With his partner Elbert Tucker, Bob founded the architectural firm Tucker and Booker Architects in 1971, and went on to make a lasting impact on the city of Louisville and its surrounding area, most notably with the L.G.E. building in downtown Louisville.
He loved fishing and hunting, playing poker with his buddies, and being with his family and his dogs.
He touched the lives of many people through his kindness, mentorship, guidance, and friendship.
Throughout his life, Bob took pleasure in working hard and playing hard.
Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and the Funeral Service will be held at Kraft Funeral Service at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Bob’s final resting place will be Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany.
Donations in Bob's memory may be made to St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1307 E. Elm Street, New Albany, Indiana or to Brown Cancer Center, Louisville, Kentucky
