I am truly so saddened by the news of Dr. Harris' passing. I only got reacquainted with him this last year and a half when I was looking for a holistic doctor and Dr. Harris' name was associated with him. I needed a new dentist so I made an appointment. That was an appointment of first, surprise, as Dr. Harris didn't put together my name and who I was. We talked so much three of his employees reminded him he had other patients to see. 
I met Dr. Harris through my friend, Kelly. He was her orthodontist. I needed braces and began going to him. Each month was marked on the calendar because going to Dr. Harris' in Jeff was so much fun. Kelly, my younger sister, Teresa, and I looked forward to that long drive from Valley Station. And our appointments were usually the last ones. Dr. Harris was the coolest old guy we knew. (He was 32!)
After I graduated from high school and floundered a bit with my future, Dr. Harris told me he'd hire me if I got a dental assisting degree. And his friend was the head of Watterson College so there I went. 
I worked for a year with him. That was a year of learning and growing. I turned 21 while I worked for him. I finally took a job in Louisville, got married, had children and settled down. 
My time with Dr. Harris was short but he made an impact on me. I will cherish the year working for him, and will always remember Carla, Sue, Jill, Rhonda, and Dr. Coomer. 
I pray for his grieving family and friends. 
Rest peacefully, friend. Until we meet again.

So many memories of Dr. Harris,
I went to him as a recommendation from U of L.  Jeffersonville was foreign to me and my Mother. But we made the drive from south Louisville.

While waiting for my appointment, pretending to read a Highlight magazine, I got caught glancing at a good looking guy ...he was looking at me too. Ended up being my future husband. We were 15. Then 15 years later we met.  Been married almost 40 years now.
During the early years..the 70s
three of us teen girls, two with braces, one along for the ride,  would drive over from Louisville, for our after school appointments. Usually last appointment of the day. Starving we'd get Dairy Queen and eat onion rings. Sorry Dr. Harris but that was a real treat for us. I don't know how he put up with us. He was a cool dude to us also ie he put LRS102 on the radio for us. The appointments were something we  looked forward to regardless of the agony of new wires. I hope we didn't keep Rhonda too late, too many times.
Nancy ended up working for him as a dental assistant. 
So many visits. Lots of conversations. Through the years.

Brought my kids into his office on a regular weekly basis after my wreck. Debbie helped with the baby at times, as more than a few times I slept while he worked on me. I had to be at work at 2 a.m. and was generally exhausted. Dr. Harris rehabilitated me for a long time. I used to have the fattest file. But because of his knowledge and work, teaching me how to rehab, I have managed my pain, medication free, over the decades
Of course, when anything was needed he was THE ONLY dentist in my world for our family.

I wish I had known of his ill heath, to say goodbye. Nancy just called to tell me he passed.  He seemed immortal, even after his heart attack. 
To the family and Kathleen, you have my sincere condolences. The photos are wonderful and show so many sides of the man you loved.  Dr. Harris.  One of a kind. I hope he and I will catch up in glory one day.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. To know even a glimpse of Dr. Harris was a gift. I cannot imagine what his loved ones are feeling. His work helped me overcome previous dental trauma. He was patient, quick to ease my stress or worry, thorough and impeccable. He made everyone in his chair feel like an old friend he was delighted to see. Praying for comfort for his family in the days and months ahead.

We have been patients with  Dr Harris since he started practicing on Allison Lane. He was a very knowledgeable person and very professional. We will miss him as our dentist and friend.

I am so sorry for the loss of our classmate.  Clarksville  was a small community and a great place to grow up from grade school through high school.  We were all friends.

God Bless the Harris family.  Bobby will be missed.

My condolences to Dr Harris’s family, friends and staff. I have been a patient of his for over 30 years. He has worked absolute miracles for me with his patience and knowledge for my unfortunate lifetime of dental issues.  I always had complete trust and faith he would fix whatever my recent dental challenge was.  I just adored him and am so saddened to hear of his passing.  May God give each of you strength at this time.

Condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues. As his 'second most unlucky patient', Dr. Harris performed miracles for me. But there is so much more about him that was great. He was a renaissance man, life-long learner, calming influence,  servant to others, teacher, & sparkling conversationalist. We are blessed to have known him.

One of the nicest men I had the privilege to meet. He was new to his faith when he became my orthodontist years ago. I came to him as an adult. I loved our conversations about the Bible and our walks with Christ when I had my appointments.  He also took on my daughter as a patient as a teen.  He was truly one of a kind. My sincere condolences to the family.

Lydia and I met Dr Harris about three years ago and have always admired his incredible talent, knowledge, and energy.  He so loved to share new knowledge with us every time we saw one another.

His bubbly personality and good humor will be surely missed by everyone.  Best wishes, Brian and Lydia Pearson
