Robert (Bob) Raymond Poston Jr., age 72, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, after living a fruitful and full life. He was known for his kind, caring, generous, and humorous personality. Although it brings us comfort and joy to know that he is now with Jesus, it leaves a void in our hearts for those of us left here on Earth. Bob was an active member at Edwardsville United Methodist Church for 37 years.
Bob was born April 3, 1952, in Tucson, Arizona. He later moved to Louisville, Kentucky, with his mom. In Louisville, he met his high school sweetheart, and wife of 51 years, Brenda. In 1987, they moved to Georgetown, Indiana and lived there for the rest of his life.
Bob was a generous and compassionate provider. He worked faithfully for 40 years at Humana as the Director of Data Network Infrastructure. He was a hard worker, full of wisdom, and kindness. In 2016, he retired and spent time running, bike riding, juggling, dancing, traveling around the world, training his dog (Lincoln), and lovingly entertaining his grandchildren. He was a faithful and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Bob is survived by his wife, Brenda Poston, and his children Robert Raymond Poston III (Cornelia), Kimberly (Joshua) Ciolkosz, Jennifer (Kyle) Parr, and 8 grandkids (Ava Jewell Poston, Bobby (Robert Raymond Poston IV), Jewell Parr, Genesis Parr, Eli Ciolkosz, Ana Ciolkosz, Gabe (Jireh Ray) Ciolkosz, and Titus Ciolkosz.
Visitation for Robert will be held Monday, September 23, 2024, from 4:09 PM to 7:23 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Kraft Funeral Service with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Edwardsville UMC or Brandon’s House, causes Bob cared about.
