Stella May Kochert Knable, age 87, of Georgetown, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 19, 2024. She was born on December 29, 1936, in Washington County, Indiana to the late Jennings William Kochert and Mary Francis Durbin Kochert.
Stella traveled the world as Vice-President of Tuesday Morning. She was one of the first woman business professional to visit China after its opening in 1978. Along with visiting Egypt, Turkey, Portugal, Tibet, India, Philippines and Indonesia. She made loving friends on her travels and at home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Knable; a grandson, Todd Knable; parents, Jennings William and Mary Francis Kochert; a brother, Raymond Kochert and a sister, Anita Elwanger.
Stella is survived by her five children, Mary Knable, William Knable (Barbara), Patricia Lavey (John), Anne Knable Boenig, and Gregory Knable (Ionela); eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her canine friend, Sandy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Stella will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral service will be Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
