Steven Wayne Hicks

STEVEN WAYNE HICKS, 57 years of age, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at his residence in Georgetown, Indiana. Steven was born to the late Willard J. and Marie Byron Hicks on June 26, 1953. He was an Optician at the old Southern Optical, then at the American Eye Institute, Dr. Jack Hedrick in Salem Indiana, and most recently at Insight Eye Care in New Salisbury, Indiana. Steven was a Navy Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Nathaniel Green nuclear submarine as a radioman and was a member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church in New Albany. Preceding Steve in death were his parents, Willard and Marie Hicks, and two brothers, Mike and James Hicks.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rebecca Sue Hoeppner Hicks; daughters, Katherine Kelly Hicks-Booth and her husband, Joseph, and Jessica Sue Hicks and her fiance, Lorin Yelle; three grandchildren, Taylor Marie Booth, Joseph R. Booth, Jr., and Asher Lowell Yelle; and a brother, Barry Hicks and his wife, Mickey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 8, 2010 and after 10:00 am Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 9th at the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with Full Military Honors. Private entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
