Sylvester “Speedy” Wright, 78 years of age of Clarksville, Indiana “The Mill” died Thursday June 29, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. He was born April 9, 1939 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Ben and Jewell L. (Cherry) Wright. He was a retired self employed contractor and also worked many years with the old Henderson Construction Company. He was the widower of Patricia A. Wright and a veteran of the United States Army. Speedy was preceded in death by his wife, son, Richard and grandson, Ronnie Nixe.
Surviving Include his five children, James “Mickey” Wright(Janice), Michael L. Wright(Charity), Steven S. Wright(Holli), Portia A. Nixe(Ronald), Jamie L. Wright; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Jo Wright; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and after 9:00 am Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service with Military Honors will be 12:00 pm Thursday at the Kraft Funeral Chapel. Private entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
