Thomas Upton Costilow, Jr., 70, died Sunday, September 27, 2015. The son of the late Thomas Upton Costilow, Sr. and Ruth Theobald Costilow, Thomas was born July 22, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Thomas was in the 101st Airborne Division and fought on Hamburger Hill and was awarded two bronze stars for his service. He had a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, was a member of the Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity, and worked many years at The Kroger Company on State Street in New Albany.
Survivors include his sister, Irene Gnerlich (Rob); brother, Bob Costilow (Sallie); niece, Robin Baskette (Mike); nephew, Josh Gnerlich; great nephews, Wes and Jack Baskette; dear friend, Tom Vickery; and numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm ~ 4:00 pm Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. His Funeral Service with Military Honors will be 4:00 pm Friday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
