Violet Baker, 91 years of age died peacefully Wednesday March 23, 2016 surrounded by her daughter Vera Jean Glotzbach and grandchildren Mechelle Roy, Kelli Vaughn and Roy Cunningham all of New Albany. Violet was born March 29, 1924 in New Albany to the late Clyde and Lucy Lawson. She worked at the old Army Ammunition Plant, was a member of the VFW post 3281 Ladies Auxiliary, but most of all loved taking care of people. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years George Baker, her sisters Lillian Breisler, Faye Moore, and her brother James Lawson.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday and after 9:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, at the Kraft Spring St. Chapel with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery
